Volkswagen's T-Roc crossover SUV range raced to a record month in May with 949 sales.
With four variants at present, including (for a time) two versions of the R performance T-Roc, Volkswagen Passenger Vehicle Director Michal Szaniecki said the brand's new sales pillar would likely exceed 1000 units this month with plentiful supply at hand.
In May, 463 Volkswagen customers chose the T-Roc Style, 257 the R-line, 69 the limited edition R Grid, and 161 the T-Roc R.
"We're happy to see that the brand resonates so well with younger generations who are clearly ready for the fresh and unique T-Roc range that we can now bring to showrooms," Mr Szaniecki said.
"That 229 customers chose T-Roc Rs of both types and a further 257 went for the R-line, demonstrates both that T-Roc has emulated what the Golf has long been to Volkswagen.
"With the introduction in September of the CityLife edition as a new entry point, T-Roc will remain very much the leader of the Passenger Vehicle side of the Volkswagen brand."
