Suzuki Australia announced on the 11th of September that 500 x Jimny Automatic 3-doors’ will be available for sale from 12pm AEST on September 18th, 2023.
In less than 5 hours, all available units for order were taken.
Online enquiries flooded Suzuki Australia’s official website since the announcement earlier this month with overwhelming demand from customers eager to get their hands on a one. The Jimny has been a hot commodity since the announcement in July 2018 of its confirmation of launch for Australia in January 2019, and this recent surge in demand underscores its enduring popularity. As soon as the 500 units were made available for purchase, enthusiasts descended upon Suzuki dealerships to secure one of their very own with some Metro dealers writing over 40x orders of the popular light SUV yesterday alone!
Additionally, 34x 3-Door Jimny manual orders were taken and 62x 5-Door Jimny pre-orders were also taken yesterday in the same timeframe. Suzuki Australia have already received in excess of 1500+ orders for the long wheelbase Jimny 5 Door which is due to be released in Q1, 2024.
"We always knew Jimny had a special place in the hearts of our customers but taking orders for almost 600 units in just under 5 hours is pretty cool. This demand reaffirms the Jimny's iconic status in the world of 'go anywhere' 4x4’s. We are so proud to see the passion and loyalty of our customers, and we will continue to strive for excellence in delivering what they want with the constant pursuit for incremental supply in 2024.” Suzuki Australia General Manager – Automobile, Mr. Michael Pachota said.
