Kumho Tyre has declared its Crugen KL33 has become the go to tyre for the fast growing SUV vehicle sector and is now making up a major share of the tyre maker's sales in Australia.
The Kumho Crugen KL33 has been chosen by a number of OEM vehicle makers as the original equipment fit on many of the most popular SUVs, including the Hyundai Sante Fe and Kia Sorrento as well as high-end SUVs, such as Audi's latest Q5.
The Crugen Premium KL33 was developed in response to the increasing demand for urban SUVs and has been designed for the dynamics of high-performance SUVs, offering great on-road handling and braking along with excellent stability at high speed, making it one of the largest selling SUV tyres globally.
According to Kumho Tyre Australia national marketing manager, Kenny Chun, the KL 33's lower noise levels and outstanding ride comfort have helped win it favour with OE manufacturers and retail customers alike.
"SUV owners who have experienced KL33s as original fit on their vehicles are amongst our biggest advocates and once they have experienced them on their vehicles they come back for more when it is time for them to be replaced," he said.
" The Kumho KL33 is also well balanced and has very good wet and dry road traction as a result of the engineering and design that has gone into the tyre," he added.
The improved traction performance of the KL33 comes as a result of a tread pattern designed to improve driving stability and resistance to abrasions, while semi-knurling (a technique that places a pattern on the block surface to prevent slipping) has been added, along with 3D blocks, and four wide grooves to improve driving safety on wet roads.
Its optimum tread pitch design helps reduce road harmonics and provide better comfort performance and delivers the sector leading low noise levels.
The Crugen KL33 offers the quietness and comfort expected in high-end sedan tyres and also uses an upgraded silica compound for increased fuel economy.
The recent announcement that Audi had selected the Kumho KL33 for its Q5 underlines the performance credentials of the tyre and is a testament to its quality and technological excellence and backs up its selection by many other car makers.
The Kumho Crugen KL33 is available in 43 different sizes for wheel sizes between 15 inch and 20 inch and in profile sizes from 45 to 70 series.
Kumho tyres are also fitted as original equipment on BMW's 1-Series, 2-Series, 3-Series, 5-Series and X3, Volkswagen's Polo and were recently announced as OEM fitment on the Mercedes G-Wagon.
As well as BMW and Mercedes-Benz Kumho is an OE supplier to leading global carmakers including Volkswagen, Chrysler, GM and Ford.
