- Isuzu UTE Australia delivers 4,712 vehicles in August, a record for the two-vehicle brand, as production and vehicle supply improves.
- IUA's commitment to reducing vehicle lead times takes a positive turn.
Isuzu UTE Australia (IUA) is thrilled to advise that there is finally light at the end of the tunnel regarding lead times on the Isuzu D-MAX and MU-X. IUA has implemented a number of strategic initiatives to reduce waiting times and now welcomes increased Isuzu D-MAX ute and MU-X SUV supply; culminating in a record-breaking 4,712 vehicle deliveries in August 2023.
With customer satisfaction at the forefront, Isuzu UTE Managing Director Junta Matsui shares, "the company expresses sincere appreciation for the patience and ongoing support demonstrated by its customers throughout this unprecedented period of delays and guarantees its ongoing dedication to taking measures to decrease wait times remains steadfast."
Across June, July, and August, IUA has welcomed increased vehicle supply into Australia, with over 5,000 vehicles arriving each month, with planned vehicle arrival volumes to remain consistently higher throughout the remainder of 2023 and early-2024. In addition to reduced component supply shortages, IUA's increase in vehicle deliveries can be attributed to its multifaceted approach that encompasses improved vehicle production levels, streamlined shipping processes, and innovative solutions to address longstanding challenges. Notably, the deployment of shipping containers to supplement the traditional RoRo (Roll-on, Roll-off) method has emerged as an initiative to effectively safeguard vehicles from the contamination issues that have recently plagued vehicles during the importation and quarantine process.
While significant strides have been made, shipping and logistics remain a challenge but are a focal point for IUA's continuous improvement efforts in the hopes of reducing vehicle lead times further. The company is actively engaging in several initiatives to further enhance shipping efficiency both domestically and internationally.
These initiatives include partnering with international suppliers and loading ports to proactively minimise the risk of contamination affecting new vehicles before vessel departure, along with working with Australian Border Force Departments regarding inspection procedures and resolution options pertaining to affected shipments. Embracing a hybrid approach by utilising shipping containers and alternate terminal dispatching methods to bolster shipping capabilities, IUA continues to work in close coordination with domestic logistics partners to optimise local transport capacities once vehicles arrive in Australia.
The positive trajectory is not only evident in the increase in vehicle supply and deliveries over the last few months, but also in the annual sales results, with 28,409 vehicles sold and delivered thus far, poised to outperform the previous year.
Despite the persistent challenges, the positive outlook remains that both production and vehicle supply of both the Isuzu D-MAX ute and MU-X SUV are steadily returning to normal levels and IUA continues to explore all viable avenues to expedite vehicle deliveries.
These promising developments are a testament to IUA's enduring commitment to customer satisfaction, with the marque remaining dedicated to delivering customer orders as quickly as possible.
