Australia's leading automotive lighting company, NARVA, will once again play an important role in 2019 'Shine a Light on Road Safety' campaign with support this year from Burson Auto Parts stores in Victoria.
The campaign provides an opportunity for the community to get together and show their personal commitment to reducing the road toll and to 'Shine a Light on Road Safety'. It is part of the annual National Road Safety Week which also runs in conjunction with the United Nations 'Decade of Actions' on Road Safety every alternate year.
Officially launching on Sunday 5 May at Albert Park Lake in Melbourne from 11.00am Narva personnel and their families will join with hundreds of other supporters for a walk around the lake to raise awareness, provide support and to learn directly from those affected by road trauma how Road Trauma Support Services Victoria (RTSSV) has supported them.
On Friday 10 May, drivers nationally will be asked to 'turn on their headlights to 'Shine a Light on Road Safety'.
Such is the importance of road safety to the community that the campaign has the support of the Victorian Government, TAC, VicRoads, Victoria Police, Transurban and East Link and reaches more than a million people each year.
"Narva is proud to support the RSSV 'Shine a Light' campaign again this year to highlight the importance of vehicle lighting for all motorists as we believe that road safety is of paramount importance to us all." said Narva Marketing Manager Jake Smith. "After supporting the RTSSV team for a number of years we have seen and admired the dedicated work they perform with people impacted by road trauma both directly and indirectly. It is making a real difference to victims and to the families of victims and at the same time important RTSSV education programs are changing driver attitudes," he said.
"As a major supplier of world leading automotive lighting, Narva is teaming up with Burson Auto Parts and retailers throughout Victoria to raise awareness on the importance of checking vehicle headlights and updating existing globes as winter approaches. We cannot stress enough how important effective and reliable lighting is for all road users and that is why we have partnered with Burson Auto Parts in Victoria to ensure stores are stocked with all the latest Narva globes to suit virtually any vehicle on the road," said Jake Smith.
