GWM has officially opened the order books on its highly anticipated H6GT Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV), marking the brand’s first-ever entry into the evolving PHEV market in Australia. Arriving in Q1 2025, the H6GT PHEV offers drivers a blend of performance, efficiency and cutting-edge technology, setting a new benchmark in the competitive SUV segment.
Priced at just $55,990 driveaway, the H6GT PHEV is equipped with an advanced 1.5L turbocharged hybrid engine producing 110kW and 230Nm, complemented by three powerful motors, two at the front and one at the rear. Integrated with the 4WD system, the high-performance, high efficiency rear motor delivers an independent 135Kw / 232Nm. This combination offers both an exhilarating sports performance driving experience and smooth transitions between electric and hybrid modes, without comprising on efficiency and delivering more than 1,000km combined range. The combined motor technology will deliver an exhilarating performance of 0-100kms in 4.9 seconds, with a combined performance of 342KW and 762Nm.
Breaking the glass ceiling, H6GT PHEV delivers a class-leading electric-only range of up to 180kms via its large 35.4kWh battery pack. This extended range, more than double of its nearest competitor, will ensure owners can cover greater distances with zero emissions, significantly reducing fuel consumption and ‘range anxiety’ in regular commuting.
Steve Maciver, GWM Haval’s Head of Marketing & Communications, says: “This class-leading technology and range will empower owners to enjoy an all-electric driving for a majority of their urban trips, while the hybrid system ensures peace of mind on those longer journeys. GWM has addressed one of the biggest customer concerns around ‘range anxiety’, providing a solution that will be best-in-class. This model is a significant milestone for GWM, showcasing our commitment to pioneering EV solutions that enhance the driving experience without compromise.”
The vehicle offers multiple charging options via AC 6.6kW or DC 48kW. Fast charging allows the battery to return to 80% capacity in as little as 26 minutes (30-80%).
The GWM H6GT PHEV is now available for pre-order across Australia, and interested customers can visit their local GWM dealership or register interest at www.gwmanz.com.
