Subaru sales of 3,223 in January represented a massive 43.2% improvement over the same month last year, according to official VFACTS figures released today.
With a 4.0% market share, the sales figure was achieved through some impressive tallies across the range, led by Forester, with 1,231 sales – a 52.7% hike over January 2020.
Also contributing strongly was XV, with 779 sales, up 25.0%.
Even in run-out mode, Outback totalled 554 sales, ahead 70.5%, while Impreza sales of 374 were up 30.8%.
Amazingly, Liberty sales of 183 were up 289.4%, making it the second best-selling Medium car under $60,000 – a remarkable achievement in the final weeks of its life in Australia.
Subaru Australia General Manager, Blair Read, said: "We're delighted that so many customers have engaged with Subaru in January.
"Our forward orders incredibly strong and with new generation Outback officially on sale on March 1, we're tremendously encouraged by the level of customer interest right across the range.
"Both XV and Forester were recently freshened up for the 2021 Model Year and that's reflected in the January results.
"Certainly, the long-held Subaru values of engineering, durability, safety, fun driving and whole-of-life costs are resonating with customers looking for certainty into the future."
