The third annual Impreza WRX Festival will this year include access to new centralised spectator points at the Subaru Rally of Canberra on May 4 and 5.
The festival is open to registration from all members of the public and has become a firm favourite with Impreza WRX fans nationwide over the last two years.
Festival fans this year will have better views of several spectacular rally stages.
The jump and tunnel that proved such a hit at the Subaru Rally of Canberra in recent years have been relocated from Exhibition Park to the Kowen forest, just 15-minutes from the CBD, adding extra excitement to the 2002 event on May 4.
So far more than 120 participants are registered for the festival.
A welcome party is being hosted on the evening of Friday 3 May at Bobby McGee's Nightclub, Rydges Lakeside Hotel, where festival participants will meet Subaru Rally Team Australia drivers Possum Bourne, Cody Crocker and Dean Herridge.
Saturday's entertainment includes the centralised spectator point at Kowen, with a gourmet BBQ inside the extensive corporate viewing area.
Live action beyond the field of vision can be followed on a big screen too. Participants get exclusive festival parking areas at forest stages, access to the rally service park and additional entertainment between stages provided by an extreme freestyle motocross aerial display team.
Festivalgoers also have the opportunity to attend the Subaru Rally of Canberra Charity Ball on Saturday night, May 4, in support of The Starlight Children's Foundation.
This will include an auction of rare rally memorabilia.
Sunday May 5 provides a new spectator area in a natural amphitheatre at Bluetts, to view another three stages of the rally. Once again this will include a big screen, catering, exclusive parking, plus the end-of-rally presentation ceremony.
Participants will also have the opportunity to be in the exclusive Festival photoshoot in front of Parliament House on Sunday morning.
