Mazda's SUV range continues to dominate the competitive set in Australia, with CX models each setting new monthly records for January, according to VFACTS figures released today.

Accounting for nearly 45% of Mazda's sales for the month, the CX range also helped Mazda secure a new monthly retail record for January, with 10,113 sales across categories.

VFACTS data shows that the Mazda CX-5 remains Australia's favourite SUV, achieving more sales than any other SUV for the month. With 2,152 retails in January, sales of Mazda CX-5s saw an 11.9% increase on January 2017.

Also holding top spot is the Mazda CX-3, recording a best yet January sales result of 1,582, a 6.5% increase on the same time last year

The Mazda CX-9 chalked up a huge 27.9% year on year increase, with 770 sales of the seven seater marking another new monthly record.

Mazda Australia Managing Director, Vinesh Bhindi, said the result sets a promising outlook for the year to come.

"Mazda's class-leading SUV range continues to entice buyers and satiate their needs in a new car, offering style, performance and value," said Mr Bhindi.

"The latest VFACTS results project a great 2018 for Mazda and strong momentum for our SUV range, which will be bolstered further when we introduce the Mazda CX-8 in the second half of the year."
