The Australian Human Resources Institute (AHRI) is the national association representing human resource and people management professionals.

AHRI is all about 'good HR'. But when it comes to the AHRI Awards they are looking for the best. And that doesn't necessarily involve a big budget and team. The best HR practices come in many different forms and often encompass creativity, passion and the ability to make a difference, no matter the size of your organisation.

PACCAR AUSTRALIA was presented with the prestigious AHRI Rob Goffee Award for Talent Management 2014, at the awards event at the Star in Sydney, in front of over 500 attendees representing over 60 major companies across Australia.

This award is based on the identification, acquisition and retention of employees and recognises PACCAR's strength in building a pipeline of talent within the company.

In accepting the award, Robert Brierley, Human Resources Manager, PACCAR Australia, noted the contributions of Paul Wiffrie, Learning & Development Manager and Christine Bombinski, HR Services Manager, in developing and delivering the extensive program.

As Mike Dozier, PACCAR Australia Managing Director observed;

"We are always delighted to be recognised for our focus on employees, having previously twice won Victorian Employer of the Year. PACCAR Australia continues to be successful by being innovative - by delivering superior products, introducing new technology and, most importantly, by listening to our customers and meeting their needs. However identifying, attracting, retaining and developing a talented pool of employees is critical to this success and continues to enhance our ability to better service our customers across the country. This philosophy extends throughout PACCAR Australia and our dealer network. For example, our commitment to education programs for our employees goes far beyond the graduate program, and includes trade skills such as certificates in automotive and process manufacturing; as well as management programs, including certificates and diplomas in business administration, automotive sales, and supply chain and logistics management.

It is truly an investment in our future and in Australian manufacturing" he concluded.

Kenworth Trucks Australia and DAF Trucks Australia are divisions of PACCAR Australia, a subsidiary of PACCAR Inc, a Six Sigma company. PACCAR is a global technology leader in the design, manufacture and customer support of high-quality light, medium, and heavy-duty trucks under the Kenworth, Peterbilt and DAF nameplates. PACCAR also designs and manufactures advanced diesel engines, provides financial services and information technology, and distributes truck parts related to its principal business.
