With a month of 2017 remaining, ŠKODA has set a new Australian record surpassing 5000 sales in a calendar year for the first time.
As of yesterday, ŠKODA had sold 5026 vehicles in this year – well up on the 4760 sold in the entirety of 2016, which was a then-local record for the European brand.
The Octavia range remains ŠKODA's mainstay with 1787 sales year-to-date (228 in November). Remarkably for a year in which large passenger cars continued to fall from favour, the Superb has increased its YTD sales by 43%, climbing to 925 in 2017 (79 last month).
At the other end of the scale, the Fabia city car has moved 952 units YTD, easily bettering 2016's 778 for the same period.
The Kodiaq SUV has sold 558 examples in 2017 (90 in November), the extent of its debut year's success restricted by supply.
A total of 534 ŠKODAs found Australian homes last month, appreciably north of the 445 recorded in November 2016.
